MAT AND FOAM ROLLER WORKSHOP
Learn core strengthening exercises, release work, and stretching. Improve athletic performance and flexibility and reduce workout soreness and muscle pain, releasing the connective tissue known as fascia. Cost $65, includes foam roller. $45 Bring Your Own Roller.

OVERVIEW OF COURSES

All dates TBD and are conducted over Saturday and Sunday weekends (18 hours including lunch) Two-Day courses are $500 plus cost of manual. One-Day courses are $275 plus cost of manual.

MAT I: Beginning and Intermediate: The Mat is the Method

Pre-requisites: 10 Mat Classes prior to course, required reading “Return to Life”

Learn, understand, and apply Pilates Principles, pre-Pilates sequences, and traditional basic to intermediate mat exercises.

MAT II: Intermediate and Advanced

Pre-requisites: Mat I module. Recommended reading material, “Return to Life,” and “Anatomy of Pilates,” 15 mat classes.

Challenge your mind and your body to the next level of control and body awareness. Explore how to successfully execute, apply and/or modify the intermediate to advanced exercises. This course includes a thorough review of the Mat I work with an emphasis on teaching practice for one-hour format class settings.

REFORMER I: Beginning and Intermediate

Pre-requisites: 10 Reformer Classes prior to course, required reading “Return to Life” and “Anatomy of Pilates”.

Brief Description: Learn, understand and apply the basic-intermediate exercises on the Reformer, relate the Pilates principles and mat work to the equipment and explore both classical and contemporary variations.

REFORMER II: Intermediate and Advanced

Pre-requisites: Reformer I module. Recommended reading material, “Return to Life,” and “Anatomy of Pilates,” 15 reformer classes.

Learn intermediate and advanced excercises and applications, as well as class design. Add challenges and depth to workouts adding props like the foot plate/ jump board. Learn teaching and presentation skills as well as class choreography.

CADILLAC /TRAP TABLE / TOWER


Pre-requisites: I Heart Pilates instructor approval

This 2 Day Training covers all the classical Cadillac/Trap Table exercises as well as contemporary variations and applications for the Tower/Springboard set-up. Focus is on personal training, class design, and programming.

BARRELS

This course is a One-Day training and covers the traditional beginning through advanced exercises and applications on the Step Barrel/Arc, traditionally known as Spine Corrector, as well as the Ladder Barrel. All exercises are broken down and demonstrated in detail with the correct set-up, execution, common errors, teaching tips and hands-on cueing. Contemporary variations will be integrated and mixed apparatus class design will be explored.

IHP BARRE
Learn how to apply Pilates principles into a fun one-hour formatted class at the ballet barre. Power Barre emphasizes Pilates form, Latte Burke technique, and class design using choreography created by Jeannine Kruger Corbell.

IHP THREE-HOUR WORKSHOPS,  Cost $75 each

Pilates Arc

The Pilates Arc, traditionally known as the Spine Corrector, is easily the most powerful small apparatus you can get. Lightweight and easy to store this  “ab-killing-machine“ will give you lots and lots of bang for your buck. Mobilize your spine, deeply connect into your core muscles and work out easily at home.

Pilates for Pregnancy 
This workshop explores the Pilates work for pre and post natal Pilates clients. Learn safe and necessary applications and modifications on mat and apparatus. Use of props will be encouraged and term specific issues will be addressed and incorporated. This will help to guide your pregnant client successfully through their pregnancy and their post-natal recovery.

Pilates and Osteoporosis

This workshop will offer insight on how to work safely and effectively with clients with osteoporosis. Learn how to integrate specific exercises into your class design so the client suffering from osteoporosis can follow along in a group class. Demonstrated modifications, applications and exercises are highly beneficial to this condition and will make a difference in the clients well-being and health.

Pilates and Props
This is a 3 hour workshop using the Pilates ring, aka Magic Circle. This traditional prop invented by Joseph Pilates can help enhance mat workouts, add variety, offer modifications & challenges. This prop makes any class fun and functional while achieving extra strengthening, toning, and increased flexibility.
